Nothingness
When everything is my SELF, existence is a reality. The body, world and universe exist because they are all my SELF, which is the only thing that is real. This is the direct experience in Unity Consciousness. But when the SELF disappears, it is a completely different viewpoint. Prior to Consciousness knowing itself, there is no sense of Being, individual, cosmic or universal, to know or experience anything. There is only pure Nothingness. When there is no SELF appearing as everything, there is no everything! When the SELF disappears, the existence of the universe also disappears.
Nothingness is the state prior to the sense of Being where the universe is experienced prior to its existence. Before the flow of cosmic Intelligence that creates the appearance of the universe, there is no universe, no creation and no existence. In this state, the world remains the same, but it has no existence whatsoever. From that perspective, nothing has ever been created. The Nothingness prior to existence is directly experienced everywhere within the appearance of existence. It is being the universe prior to its existence.
This is not the same as when the sense of being an individual separate self disappears in the initial awakening to Cosmic Consciousness. In the shift to Nothingness, it is the universal sense of Being that disappears. The unbounded field of pure Awareness in which everything exists is found not to be the ultimate source of all existence after all. There is no existence from the perspective beyond Consciousness. In Cosmic Consciousness, there is still a sense of detachment from the body and world. In the state of Nothingness, there is no detachment from the world. It is not possible to be detached from something that does not exist. The world, universe and all existence are experienced from this perspective as the non-existence of Nothingness in appearance. All existence is Nothingness. There is no SELF, and there is no everything. There is only non-existent pure Nothingness appearing as all existence.
In the first Awakening to unbounded, absolute pure Awareness, the world exists within my Self. In the second Awakening, the world is my SELF. In the third Awakening, the world is non-existent, because there is no SELF. From this perspective, the world is made of Nothingness, and is therefore, directly experienced as being non-existent. Something made of pure non-existence cannot be said to exist. This is not an intellectual understanding, concept, conviction or belief. It is the direct experience in this state. It is the state of being Nothingness.
Nothingness cannot be said to be pure Awareness, nor can it be said to not be pure Awareness. It is not Consciousness, yet it cannot be said to be not Consciousness. It is not Being, yet it is not non-Being. It cannot be said to be the Absolute because the Absolute exists. Nothingness is beyond all existence, manifest and unmanifest, yet absolute pure Being and all existence appears within it. No “one” can know it or experience it. Only it can know itself.
This may sound a bit perplexing or strange, but that is only because words cannot convey its reality. It is something that can only be known by being it. It is actually a very simple, all-comprehensive state of complete freedom, strength and self-sufficiency. All the attributes of the previous states of Consciousness are still there, only experienced from a more complete and total perspective. It is all-inclusive pure Nothingness. There are no states within it. Everything is non-existent Nothingness in the appearance of existence. Yet everything remains the same as it is now, only Being has awakened to the total expanse of itself beyond all existence.
Pure Nothingness is beyond all concepts of God the creator, maintainer and destroyer. It is completely on its own level, yet it includes all possible levels. It is eternal and uncreated, and yet all of creation appears within it in a state prior to its existence. Existence, made from the material of pure non-existence, cannot exist. What was never really created, cannot truly exist. It can only appear to exist.
If you think about it logically, it is not possible for something to be created out of Nothing. If something is created out of Nothing, then it is not something – it is Nothing in the appearance of something. The ultimate reality of something created out of Nothing is Nothing, not something! 0 + 0 = 0, not 1. This is the ultimate formula of the Theory of Everything. Everything is Nothing in appearance!
